Happy Friday,

This is your reminder for practice on Sunday morning at 11:00 am. We will be at Olathe North again this week and next week. The next two weeks are really important for the club. The players headed to nationals need some scrimmage time and we have not had enough numbers to play a full scrimmage. If you have not been out to practice in a while or have not been out since the tournament please come to practice this week. If you think I am talking about you - I probably am.

The club has a terrific opportunity to win our division at nationals but there is still work to be done. If you are not going to nationals you can help us by practicing the next two weeks.

We will also be talking about our plans for this fall. There are lots of exciting things on the calendar between Labor Day and the end of the season.

See you on Sunday,
Andrew

KCGAC Club Members,

Irish Fest on Labor Day weekend is one of our most important weekends of the year. It allows us to explain, recruit, and grow Gaelic Football and Hurling in Kansas City. As such, I expect all club members to help and participate in manning our booth at Irish Fest this year. It is a great way to have fun, meet new people, gain new recruits, and tell people about the sports we love to play.

I am asking for volunteers to man the booth and support the club. I especially expect those of you not going to Nationals for Gaelic Football to step up and help as our numbers in KC that weekend will be lower than in the past. Please wear your jerseys with pride and bring balls, sliotars, and hurleys. We will also need players to demonstrate Gaelic Fooball and Hurling - day/time TBD.

Please let me know when you would like to volunteer at Irish Fest and if you would like to be part of the demonstrations. Please email me at devin@kcgac.org or call me at 913-515-0911. I will send updates and post on forum updates to the volunteer list so we we can make sure we have plenty of help for each time slot.

Below are times we need volunteers for. Thanks so much for your help and being a part of a wonderful club!

Cheers,
Devin Cooley
KCGAC Chairman

A reminder once again, Wednesday's practice will be at Southwest High School at 66th and Wornall and we'll be playing at our new time as sundown creeps up a little each day - 6:30PM.  It will be warm, but we're big kids and can handle it.  Plus, it will be more shaded than East.

And PLEASE make every effort to attend both sessions this weekend.  The club is flying James Trearty in from Ireland who, along with our coach James Bradley, will be covering a lot of the little things we don't necessarily get to during a regular practice or scrimmage.  I would stress that this is the most important weekend of the year for the entire club - beginners all the way up to expert, casual and competitive players alike - outside of our home tournament.  I know some peoples schedules don't always line up on the weekend, but hopefully with both these times we can all make at least one, and hopefully both on this one weekend.

Saturday, 8/14, 4PM, Swope Park - We'll be at the grass field next to the Wizards.  This won't be a regular practice where we'll be running the entire time.  It will be more laid back as there will be a lot of Q&A time between sessions on the field. Bring any and all questions you've ever had.  Look for me there - I'll likely be the one consistently asking the dumbest questions.

Sunday, 8/15, 11AM, Olathe North - The main thing we'll be doing today is a scrimmage.  We'll do a discussion of what's gone right and what's gone wrong at the half and the conclusion.

The club has made a significant investment in making this weekend a productive one, so please help us achieve that goal with your participation.
